Wilderness Trials

The giraffe teaches us wilderness lessons for everyday battles in the spiritual sense. They have huge hearts in order to send blood up their long neck. A huge heart in human terms usually means a very kind and compassionate person. Those two words deeply imbedded into our persona is guarding our hearts from hardening.

A hardened heart renders complaining, anger, bitterness, complacency, self seeking pride, sneaky behaviors, and arrogant thinking. It is a giving in to evil pursuits and staying there. We are called to a higher faith and walk on earth. Standing firm in our faith guards against hardening hearts.

Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness… Hebrews 3:8

In today’s life, our trials in the wilderness is living in a world filled with hate, war, violence, unhealth, and family discord. We must be vigilant against hardening our hearts.

So, start today with the vision of a giraffe. Keep your eyes on higher things rather than worldly circumstances. Engage in a personal relationship with Jesus. Seek daily guidance with the Holy Spirit.
