Let us never forget the beauty of the earth. At dusk last evening the colors and sounds of creation were vibrant. Red and gold set the backdrop to the junipers and cedars. The clouds banked like a blue-gray sea with a rising up of a great white mountain. God’s people must rise up in Christ, not in any earthly entity.
Birds were roosting nearby. Yet, not an animal was in sight; only glimmers of sounds. The birds have either been frantic or mostly silent in the last week, but on this evening they gathered to chatter and settle. It was as if peace fell over the land like God has declared, “I’m still in control”. Even the animals know more than humans.
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, …Job 27:7-10
