Today

Everyday gives us surprises. Some good; some not so good. I had gone out to take my dog, Batman, to walk one morning just before leaving for a pulmonary test for MUSC. Bouncing down the steps he went as I followed. Literally. I ended up face planted into the bottom banister with a nose bleed, neck torque, and hurt my back, bad, again. This was last year.

In an instant I heard in my spirit, “Look at the yellow flowers.” They were blooming at the far end of the path. As I focused on the yellow flowers and talked to God, I calmed and as I gathered myself onto the bottom step I felt in the presence of His Holy arms. Once I could crawl back into the house, off to the ER I went, once again.

I laugh at that scene today, and while it was not funny at the time, staying close to God’s words gave me insights, peace in the storm, and the faithful will not to give in to the spiritual warfare going on in life. Never doubt that the battle for our lives and souls in the spiritual realm is real.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

God does have a sense of humor in times of dire need, chaos, hurt, disappointment, grief, or whatever you are dealing with today. Are you listening? Wake up and Pay Attention.

Today, we can still be kind, gracious, hopeful, respectful, and maintain integrity as we stand firm in faith in the only One true God of the universe. Put on your garments of royalty and stand with God today and everyday.
