Do you recognize the voice of Gods when Holy is training you what to watch out for in life? Satan’s schemes are subtle. Yet, you have a God given sense to recognize in your spirit to discern what is right and wrong, what your temptations are, and if something or someone is off. It is when we focus too hard on this world’s issues, problems, wars, wealth, weariness, what we can get from it…… we do not hear God clearly.
Peter was a friend and disciple of Jesus. His faith in Him was strong. He believed in the miracles, the words Jesus spoke, the lessons he taught, and traveled with Jesus everywhere. Yet, when he climbed out of the boat to go to Jesus and walked on water himself, Peter became distracted by the wind, the waves, the storm. He took his focus off of Jesus and fell into the water. This is what Satan does to us. The enemy sends distractions to make us focus anywhere, but on Jesus.
And Peter answered him (Jesus), “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” 29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water … Matthew 14
In our humanness we have daily choices as to how we handle life’s challenges, problems, and distractions in the wrong direction. Know your distractions in a world filled with evil intent. Choose Jesus. Stay focused on Holy. Build strong faith. Walk on water all the way to Jesus. This is your training as a warrior for Jesus on earth.
