Jesus observed, listened, was patient, waited, and prepared before He ever spoke. He waited for the truth just like the hawk waits for her prey to feed her babies. His actions with humanity is always preceded by pausing to see the bigger picture of every situation.
In the waiting and listening to the woman who touched the hem of His garment, He gathered information. Jesus quickly ascertained her heart posture as she spoke. He observed and listened first. He saw the truth even in the midst of the loud, crowded chaos. She genuinely needed healing.
Within the observation of the woman about to be stoned for her sin, Jesus stopped, dropped, and drew in the sand in silence. In the waiting Jesus gained clarity and truth from the Holy Spirit of God. As well, the stoning crowd calmed because they couldn’t figure out what He was doing. When Jesus spoke it was from a perspective of truth about sin and not about feelings, accusations, or joining in the frenzy.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
Not one of us are perfect nor without sin lurking around to trap us. Yet, not one of us is beyond being saved to Heaven because of Jesus’ sacrifice. Turn around and embrace the saving grace. Then live like Jesus: Observe, Prepare, Talk to God, Seek Truth, and be Patient in the Waiting like a hawk!
