God uses His creation to speak wisdom to us, remind us He is always with us, and to encourage us. The dragonfly has an interesting journey to life that speaks spiritual truths. Emerging as a tiny nymph in murky waters and spending months growing, even years, they shed their old skin and leave it in the water to fly toward the light.
At some point in our lives, we must choose to either fly towards God’s light or stay in the darkness of sin to wallow in the mud never growing forward and upward.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
Dragonflies are a reminder that to change from darkness to light sometimes takes time. There are hidden preparations that occur along the way to change and becoming full grown in our faith. God is patient with each of us. We must leave the old ways, patterns, sinful habits behind to become new in the Holy Spirit.
