Jesus was generous with His time even when He was weary, hungry, or exasperated perhaps. In His compassion, He turned towards the woman who touched the hem of His garment while the disciples tried to get Him away to the waiting crowd to speak. In His exhaustion from the day, He taught and fed the 5,000 knowing they were hungry, too. Even as Jesus hung on the cross in agony, put there by some of the very He ministered to as well as the jealous religious entities, Jesus asked His Father in Heaven to forgive them.
As we go about our daily lives let us never forget Ecclesiastes 11. The bread is our sustenance to be shared which includes our gifts and talents, livelihood, money, time, etc. The waters, whether rushing rapids, calm, deep, or uncertain directions depicts that we can’t control where our help lands. Only God is in control of that, and Holy will get whatever is needed to the right person at the right time. In time, our generosity comes back full circle to us.
Jesus generously gave His time, knowledge, healing, miracles, and spent time with God alone in prayer for replenishment and to relinquish control back to our creator. We are to live like Jesus on earth in today’s world. Are you?
