On this Palm Sunday, let us remember the sacrifice of Jesus for humanity. Let us remember the blessings of miracles, signs, wonders, and words of a perfect man so in tune to the needs of each one of us. Let us remember the true Holy mission and not miss the true blessing for all until the end of time.
As the palms waved in the throng, the people saw the blessing as Jesus had come to save them by becoming their king to rule on earth in that time period. They missed the point of the whole holy mission. Even though they lived in a time to see him in the flesh, hear His voice, wisdom, and servant heart, they still missed His true purpose.
A large crowd of people spread their cloaks on the road while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds walking in front of Jesus and those walking behind began to shout, “Praise to David’s Son! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise be to God!” Matthew 21:8-9
The people wanted saving from wars, harsh rulers, unfair justice, selfish politicians, starvation, poverty, and a pleasant, comfortable life. God wanted to not only save the people then, but also all of the people afterwards all of the way up to us humans currently living. Palm Sunday sets the final plan in motion for all not just a few. Do you believe it?
The people did not understand. Do you? What are the blessings you are looking for in life? Are you on board with God’s plans for this life you live? Do you even seek those plans with commitment? Or are you looking for your own plans to come into fruition? God’s blessings may not look like we think it should, but it’s always right, truthful, a bigger picture, and with compassion, forgiveness, and Holy saving grace.
