Like a tree firmly rooted by streams of water, our faith anchors us through the hard seasons of life. Without cultivating that kind of deep faith, our spiritual stability will wax and wane based upon circumstances of the day, at any given time.
When we do not have a future plan, purpose, morals, values, or hope, life can become like the leaves drifting down the river. Swirling, circling, crashing into rocks, or stuck in the muddy bank is what life becomes without direction. Once you reach the whirling rapids discontent, disunity, complacency, resignation, carelessness, or addictions can seep into your soul allowing Satan to get a stronghold within. Guard against living an aimless life.
We are called to faithfully uphold the moral value of life. All life matters to God. Your life matters to God. The enemy, Satan, not so much as there is killing, destruction, mutilation, stealing your peace, and there is no regard for life. Jesus is the hope we lean into.
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19–20
What anchors your life? Jesus anchors mine. Take time to learn about His life spent on earth. Emulate Jesus in your daily life to anchor your mind, heart, and soul to heavens shores.
