The parties are over. Fireworks subsiding. Many have gone back to work while others still languish at the beach, lake, or World Cup. And, we are still One Nation Under God even though the celebrations are in the past. Let us pledge our allegiance anew to the land of the free.
America is still free to choose today. Tomorrow that promise may disappear if we are not careful to observe, discern truth, and prepare for our continuing freedom. It begins in our hearts and in our homes, then spreads out into communities. Take nothing for granted.
Jesus’ sacrifice for our freedom is multidimensional. He still sets the captives free; the women and children in sex trafficking and abuse thanks to the work of Victor Marx, Tim Tebow, and so many others. Jesus still breaks the chains of addiction whether it’s drugs, self aggrandizement, porn, or generational curses. He still saves us from the bondage of tyranny, selfish greed, and corruption.
Yet, there are responsible heart postures within each of us that are necessary to awaken to the sinister plans of evil, to speak truth, and have no fear. How is your heart posture?
Seek Holy Spirit for guidance, direction, truth, and thank God America is still free today.
