What a huge responsibility to literally carry God within. She must have felt so alone in her journey to be faithful, willing, and live out her mission. Yet, she was not alone for Joseph stepped up, believed, followed through, and took on the responsibility With her. He was there for her in the most difficult circumstances and raised the babe, the God man, as his own.
They supported each other in a time in history when babies were killed at the whim of unbelieving Kings. They never forgot who the real King would be, and they did it together as a family. Let us not forget the significance of family, faithfulness, silent nights, and joining together this Christ-mas.
If you feel alone during this season, take solace in that God is within you, too, by way of the Holy Spirit. Believe in the power within and focus on the joy of that and not your feelings of aloneness. God within will hold you together.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
