If not gratitude, what is rooted in your soul? Whatever you nourish your soul with ties you to it. If it’s bitterness, it will show through first in any given situation. It may look like complaining, pointing a judging finger, or even angry sadness when trust is broken. If it’s you being thankful that God is in control, it will show through in how you perceive others, situations, as well as how you embrace everyday life.
When you authetically trust God to the depth of your soul, your nourished branches will flourish with blessings amid difficult times.
Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. She/He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8
