No Judgment

Your options are different from anyone else from the beginning of your life. To pass judgment on others based on your life experiences is unfair and unjust.

I think of Jesus who, when faced with the stoning of a woman caught in sin by the mob of people, chose to stop, drop, and write in the sand. This momentary delay allowed for Him to gather His thoughts, talk to our Father in Heaven as to how to handle the situation, and served to calm down the angry crowd as they waited for Him to cast the first stone. Jesus, then, faced the angry crowd instead of the woman and turned it all back on them by saying, “You who are without sin cast the first stone.” The crowd broke up, and the only ones left were Jesus and the woman.

Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” John 8:10-11

The greatness of Jesus’ lesson is how we should handle situations in our families, in the workplace or school,  in our everyday life as we are bombarded with angry, unhappy, and pious people. People always react out of fear based on their life experiences and options they had to choose from. What you feed in life is based on your own personal options you have lived through. Yet, we are called to see life through the eyes of God, not our own.

From now on, think before you allow anger to lead in judgment. Stop and ask God before casting stones. Spend a moment in silence before spouting hurtful words and actions, accusations, and pointing fingers. Forgiveness is always the answer. Notice how Jesus finished up the conversation with the woman; change.

Forgiveness and Change!
