Pray For……

Jesus ate with drunks, thieves, sinners. Even on the cross in His agony, broken bones, and sense of defeat, as His life blood dripped onto the ground, He saved a soul to heaven. God never gives up on them. Why do we think we should give up? Prayer is all we have sometimes. Prayer is sometimes what God tells us is all we have left. There is no condemnation in kindness, goodness, sharing your Jesus story, over and over, and lamenting in prayer for those near and dear to us.

When you have tried everything else, jumped through hoops, spent thousands of dollars, cried till you dry up, beg, plead, talk, sacrifice, and even beat the walls with your angry fists until you’re in a heap on the floor, God is there to pick up the pieces of your weary burden. His loving arms grasp your heart, and He whispers, “Sometimes all you can do is pray, and this is one of those times.” It has been years since God said this to me, and I am still reminded to this day that the peace I felt wash over me has stuck with me. I owe it all to God. No matter the outcome.

But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees another in need, yet closes their heart against them, how does God’s love abide in him or her? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:17, 18
