Pick Up the Sword

It is easy to just pick up a sword in anger, perhaps hurt, and hurl it in all directions without thinking about your intent or objective. That is not a warrior’s strategy. That is hiding behind a curtain of unresolved feelings.

A true warrior cries when hurt or pain is great, even screams out into the forest when frustration abounds, and in sobbing agony prays to the Father in Heaven for strength, answers, help… And then, that warrior gathers the sword to weld it again.

It is important to remember that when unresolved feelings, anger, bitter disappointment, unacceptance of who you are created to be in God’s eyes, hurt, pain, frustration all build up over time until there is a breaking point. When we are broken, we are too weak to pick up the sword. If we allow ourselves to remain in that state too long, it gets harder and harder to see our way out of it. We then have a tendency to start owning our weaknesses, which can lead to addiction, homelessness, uncertainty, hopelessness, and lack of faith in God’s promises. This kind of warrior is reckless.

As God’s warriors, it is important to remember that we are accepted, welcomed back again, held up in high esteem, and shown the way out of unresolved feelings. Biblically, the word Sword symbolizes the Spirit and represents God’s Word. A warrior reads God’s Word and utilizes it for daily living, fighting enemy antics, help, and healing. A warrior listens for God’s word to speak directly to her or him. A warrior believes in and relies upon God’s words spoken in His promises. Pick up your sword today and start anew. Prayfully ask for meaning, knowledge, memories, insight, and discernment as you read, study, pray, converse, cry, and research. Be enlightened, awakened, and reborn by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is time to find out who you really are.

What kind of warrior are you going to be from this day forward?
