The joy of knowing God is with us no matter the circumstances is a sought out choice. In the midst of war, whether at home, in school, or abroad, it is imperative to seek Holy Joy every moment. God hears your prayers, sees your hurt, feels your pain, and guides your way. Are you hearing God?
Evil doers do not hear, listen for, follow, nor believe in God or peaceful Holy ways. I have been in the midst of evil at a time in my life. I can testify to the fact that God was with me, filled me with calm as I was experiencing terror, and heard my pleas. Evil was not hearing God and continued on with unspeakable things. God directed my actions and words. That right there saved my life. All the while, I wasn’t preaching to the evil one and did not utter any words of God until God told me what to say. It was then a glimmer of joy settled in my soul as the evil one relented.
You may wonder how any joy could be found amid terror and horror. Without a personal, up close relationship with Jesus and deep faith in the promises of God, I would have succumbed to fear and tragedy. My joy came as I realized that in my obedience to wait to speak God’s words, I allowed Him time to correct the situation. As well, my joy came as I realized God actually heard me, saved me, and ultimately saved this evil one later on through me.
God is the God of wonders, signs, mysteries, and Joy. Do not wait any longer. Today is your day to learn true joy, especially in the midst of danger.
Joy: lasting emotion that comes from the choice to trust that God will fulfill his promises.
