Holy Encounter

The beauty of these woodpecker feathers upclose is like angels wings against the vibrant sacrifice of life. The only reason I had the opportunity to take this photo is because this beautiful creature died as a result of being caught in the talons of a hawk, who flew right past me and into a window. I immediately tried to save them both, but the hawks calculated error cost him/her death by a broken neck. The woodpecker was still alive, but badly injured. 😢  Once I peeled it out of the tangled clasp of claws I wrapped it in cloth and assessed the situation. I realized the gash in its back under one wing was deep and debilitating.  I kept it wrapped and warm in safety. I prayed for no suffering. The wounds were too deep. This beautiful woodland creature died struggling to survive. Jesus sacrificed His life in a tortuous way just for me. He knows my heart, stays with me through my struggles, hears my despairing sighs, and builds me up back to life each new morning I wake up.

It happens to all of us in life. We go about our daily lives not paying attention and get caught unawares of danger, anger, unhappy people.  Suddenly, our lives take an unexpected turn. How do you handle these life changing circumstances? Fear, giving up, hiding away, playing victim, or picking up your sword of truth to fight on in the name of Holy for you still live!

When I asked Jesus about this Holy Encounter these words and scripture came days later after much searching,  praying, listening for Holy Spirit. We live in confusing times. Hawk is a messenger of opportunity, but clothed with the enemy becomes a cunning and fierce predator = stay aware of good, evil, and fake good cloaked in evil intentions. Take the measures of these words to ❤️. They are for your protection

“Look, I am setting a plumb line….” Amos 6:5-7:8
