Hard Choices

Everything in life teaches lessons: good and bad. We must train ourselves to pay attention in order to learn.

Sometimes what and who we thought we needed in our life to make it complete is a total disappointment. We can choose to wallow in self chastizing anxiety, or we can learn. We can choose to learn things about ourselves that we didn’t know before life (relationships, careers, difficult horses, abusive friends) threw us that curve ball. We can learn tactics to heal and help us grow emotionally.

Some choose to stick with the hardship because they do not want to admit defeat. This leads to paying less and less mind to the things, words, and actions trying to get our attention for healing. We find we begin focusing more on living a pretentious or unhealthy life of just trying to survive each day. Our souls slowly fade…

If we pay close attention, we will see the providence of Holy at work in our lives, especially during times of having to make hard choices that break our hearts. Hold on to that. Healing comes, and our souls begin to soar, again.

What are you paying attention to in your life?

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. … Psalm 145:20
