“And Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, Be Alert and always keep on praying for all of the believer’s everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18 (NIV, NLT)

Have you been marched across the border at gunpoint into unknown territory with only the clothes on your back? Have you witnessed firing squads in the streets, gas chambers filled with children, military coups that take away your only means of protecting yourself and family, or destruction across the land with authorities turning a blind eye to it all?

While you may not have witnessed any of these atrocities other than on the TV news and documentaries, you must realize that we all march near the border of heaven and hell daily no matter where we live on this earth. What does that look like you ask? Civil violence, Racism, Addiction, Divorce, Poverty, Homelessness, Rape, Human Trafficking, Dying Parents, Prodigals, Mean Bullies at School in the lives of our Children, Unfairness, Unkindness, Job Loss, Chronic Disease, Adapting to a Changing Environment, War – both physically and spiritually. So many more can be listed according to your own personal life.

Just like Paul and Silas in the book of Acts were imprisoned for their Christianity and unwillingness to deny it, there are many in this world today imprisoned for standing up for their Faith in the face of death. We cannot just make a phone call or physically go free them, but we can learn a valuable lesson from Mother Teresa of what we can do. Her weapon on the frontlines of war was PRAYER and her BIBLE. These are universally available to each of us Today as well. They are weapons of Spiritual means that have the ability to change the Physical means. None of us, even in the USA, are immune to the possibilities of any of the atrocities to humankind mentioned earlier that have occurred and are occurring right now. We must not be afraid to stand for what is right. We are not defenseless, but we must march through life with Faith in what we know works. Sometimes all we have is Prayer and it’s always more than enough.

So as you walk the border between heaven and hell today in your life are you carrying your weapon of Prayer and God’s Word in your heart? OR, are you marching along with purpose only concerned about what to eat for dinner? Pray for Humanity
