When I can stop myself long enough to pause in my whining I then realize how good and blessed I actually am. I am not homeless in a snow storm, I am not hungry, I am not alone…. I am thankful. What Are you thankful for in your life?
The path to happiness, wisdom, memory knowledge, and an increase in faith is not found down the path of whining, complaining, or self righteousness. That path is bitter cold, lonely, and mistaken for self protection. It is the path of growing impatience, jealousy, and “what if’s”. Happiness is not found there.
The path to happiness requires patience, lots of love, smiling at little things in life, the tenacity to accept circumstances with strength then the effort to find the hidden joy. Meaningful life is found in striving for happiness. It takes work. Sometimes it doesn’t come quickly. However, if you choose the path that leads to happiness you will discover the greatest treasure to be found is within you.
Holy Spirit is not disgruntled, does not act haughty, become bored easily, nor whines and complains. So if these are cropping up on a daily basis in your life get off that path. Holy Spirit beckons you to sit awhile and regroup. It is only when you pause to reflect that you can fully appreciate the fact there are others in this world who have a lot more trouble than each one of us. Give Thanks for that and offer your help when you get the chance. Serving is the path that leads to your greatest happiness.
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” PSALM 16:11
