Your Inner Voice

As a believer, our inner voice comes from the Holy Spirit. If we do not nurture that inner voice, everything under the sun will distract us from hearing it. In the course of living life, we must take the time to be silent and listen to what we are being told by God from within. It is the voice of the Spirit of Truth revealed by God in order for us to grow wiser, separating us from temptations and sin, while encouraging our words and behaviors in a holy direction.

Those of us who ride horses have animals as pets or seek wildlife such as birdwatching, understand the unspoken communication through senses and inner knowing. Through God’s creation, no words are needed.

Some call it intuition, which is true in a sense. However, it is much bigger than our humanness. It does not speak of or to self. It is the holiness within that we’ve awakened by way of a deep relationship with Jesus. It is the voice of Truth that resonates within. It is a knowing beyond truly understanding. It is soul searching and strengthening. It reveals wisdom.

Trust your Godly instincts. Listen for the whisper to go this way or do not do that thing. Do not discount God’s various ways that holiness is communicated to each of us in our daily lives. Stay aware and pay attention to details.

That lone turkey vulture you saw under the tree speaks of cleaning up decay. Ask God what needs cleaning up in your life. Even from the beauty of a precious bloom that catches your eye to a well placed fallen feather in an odd place, Holy speaks to us. Ask God to reveal what it means. God seeks a relational situation with us many times a day. Are you watching for it?  Are you listening? Are you asking for the revelations?

Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17

The truth of the Holy Spirit will set you free and still your wandering heart.  Take the time to nurture your inner worth.
