Trust me. Easy words to say. Comforting words to hear. To have someone so close to your small inner circle betray you hurts deeply. Jesus knows it firsthand. Let him help you move away from the bitterness, angry words, hurt, and all that goes along amid betrayal. Don’t stay where satan can gain strongholds over you so strong you never trust again. God is the only one you can trust anyway.
Jesus knows betrayal. Judas broke trust out of greed and lust for money. This was no small betrayal. Jesus knew. He broke bread, shared wine, washed his feet along with His other close friends, anyway. When Jesus spoke of it during the last supper, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.” Each one replied, “Surely not I, Lord.” Even Judas. To him, Jesus replied, “Yes, it is you.” Yet, he did not banish him from the table or his sight. Jesus carried on with eating and teaching the disciples, for He already knew there would be other betrayals. After eating, they sang a hymn and traveled on to the Mount of Olives. Jesus knew the trust was broken, yet, He allowed Judas to stay within the group. Was he giving him time to confess?
That is what Jesus still does for us. He gives us time. Time to work through it with Him. Time to see truth and still serve God, not the betrayer.
He waits. He is patient. He is kind. Most importantly, Jesus asks us to do for others as He does for each of us. In time, the truth comes, and healing can begin. Do you feel betrayed? Discuss it with Jesus before doing or saying anything. The truth and time will set you free in Jesus name. It is not found in anger, money, bitterness, hatred, or contempt. Pray hard for healing towards God in spite of the words and actions of others.
Learn to heal with Jesus in God’s way, timing, process, word, and actions. Do not let satan gain another Judas in you. It will destroy you. When God says Trust Me, you can count on those words to sustain you in the healing process.
Trust me ~ God
