Every time I read a quote by Corrie Ten Boom I am amazed at her level of wisdom and faith. Her suffering in a concentration camp, the loss of her family, the death of her sister to the horrors of abuse, neglect, degradation, and hunger is unlike anything we may encounter. She, too, suffered the same horrors, yet, Corrie lived. She kept going in Jesus name offering her sisters pallet to another, continuing to pray over, minister to, and lay healing hands of God on all she came in contact with at any given time. She kept going and doing the work of Jesus on earth while giving Holy her worries. Her strength for each day came from within where Holy Spirit resides.
As believers, we have that same access to Holy Spirit within. At this moment in time, we do not need to bog down our brains with worry, overthinking, self pity, blaming others for unfairness, anger, hate, or inconsistent faith. None of these solve any problems. What they do, though, is zap the strength of life right out of us, physically, mentally, and spiritually. As believers, we are meant to be the Corrie Ten Boom’s in this world in this given time on earth, in Jesus’ name.
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
No matter what is happening in your life today, call on your Holy inner strength to get you through with the wisdom and faith God has given you. Refuse to give up. Today’s strength is not to be wasted. Yesterday is gone, do not stay there. Tomorrow is uncertain, do not rely on it. Today is what you have, so give it all you’ve got, in Jesus’ name.
