Life is a journey comprised of joys, love, family dynamics, hardships, unanswered questions, miracles, grief, and sacred moments. The process of your life is a journey towards God’s saving grace. Is your heart and mind open to that process?
Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem took roughly 4 to 5 days. It was not an easy journey. Mary probably prayed every hour that she would not give birth in the wilderness on the way. Joseph probably prayed every hour that he could protect her and the unborn child from unforeseen danger. Both most likely looked forward to sleeping in a real bed, eating a hearty meal, and bathing away the grime and dust. Their hard journey to satisfy the government requirement would not come to an end in the comforts of the inn. Yet, they made do with what was offered and the babe was born among the animals. Mother and child lived and thrived.
The expectant Son of God’s journey was just beginning. Jesus still journeys with each of us. Do you believe it?
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
