Surrendering

Is there anything standing between you and God? Until you resolve it with God, it will keep you separated from Holy. Trying harder won’t help. You will still feel a distance, a certain disconnect, or a lull with God even though you seek worship, sing praises, and pray diligently.

There was a time in my life that, on one random day, I learned this deeply. Four different therapists couldn’t do it. Psychiatrists couldn’t do it. Begging God for relief didn’t either. Yet, one day, when I was faced with a choice from God to lay it all down instead of choosing revenge in a situation, it stopped me in my tracks. I chose to surrender this one thing to His will, and that burden was completely lifted off and out of me. God did it in His Timing and in His Way.

I am still amazed that Holy loved me that much. As well, He equally loved the one who had destroyed my life so much so that right then and there, I prayed for the person’s salvation in Jesus’ name. It was powerful.  Trying harder would never have been able to do what God did. I had already tried everything known to humans.

Today is the day to surrender whatever is holding you away from closeness with God. Reflect on it, and give it to Jesus, who has suffered through all of our human hardships. Restore your spirit and walk away with a deeper, closer relationship with Holy Spirit.

I appeal to you therefore, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2

God is good even when life is not.
