How do you start your day? Mine starts with a prayer before I get out of bed, then a cup of coffee as I talk to Jesus, journal, and read whatever scripture Holy takes me to. Sometimes, it’s really short, but most of the time, I want to spend hours with Him in His Word. It’s usually just before bedtime that I finally get back to more time with Jesus.
Starting our day with Jesus is the most important habit we can carve into our daily lives. Yes, it takes determination, preparation, planning, timing, and effort. However, I have found that it makes the rest of the day go smoother amid the conflicts, aggravation, chaos, and uncertainties.
While there never seems to be enough time in a day to do all that needs to be done, the priority for starting my day in the presence of God is essential. It has become the joy I look forward to every day.
What does your daily time with Jesus look like? Is it a priority?
Today is the day to start making Jesus your priority every day and not the headaches, problems, mistakes, and stress.
You never know if today will be your last day on earth. Make it count in Jesus’ name.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8
