Spiritual Runaways

During hardships are you running away from holy until you can figure out whose side to be on? Humans run for many reasons:

  • Prodigals seek the greener grass on the far side, fun and games, or because of just plain rebellion
  • Addicts seek the greatest high, one more high, or their last never knowing they won’t wake up
  • Christians who runaway from fallen people (even church leaders are at risk of falling), who hide in secrecy because of opposing people, or who shy away from supporting Christian leaders in society are not really worshipping God anyway for fear of having to explain their decisions as well face their own fears

However, when Christians run and hide in secret they abscond with the message of Hope given to share with the world. In a time when meeting together is discouraged, lives fall apart, and sins are uncovered, Christians should not give in to hiding away the gift of freedom in Christ. We are called to truth, to stand firm in faith for good, justice, and fairness even if it means all we have at any given moment is Prayer.

Be thankful for God’s forgiving nature. Don’t runaway in critical times. Instead Run to Divine Truths and show no fear.

“Hezekiah spoke, “People return to the Lord God, that He may return to you who are left… The Lord is gracious and compassionate…He will not turn His face from you if you will return to Him…A very large crowd Assembled to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread... Hezekiah prayed for all the people saying, “May the Lord who is good pardon everyone who sets their heart on Him”… and the Lord heard Hezekiah’s prayer and healed the people. There was great rejoicing…There was great joy…The priests stood to bless the people and God heard them for their prayers had reached heaven, His holy dwelling.” 2 Chronicles 30 (excerpts)
