Spending Time

It is a beautiful day when you can slow down to simply spend time with those you cherish, love, admire, and who encourage you in peaceful ways. We must never forget that we have the privilege of the Holy Spirit living within as our guide.  Jesus was the master of simple, ordinary, and sought peacefulness over the grandeur of self importance. He lived by simple means, serving ordinary people, and seeking extraordinary joy in His relentless love for all things of the one and only true God.

Was His life peaceful? Far from it.  He stayed on the move so as not to be killed before His appointed time. He knew His closest friends would betray Him. He washed Judas’ feet anyway. His love for God transcended into love for all humans no matter their flaws and chose to pay attention to God’s ways instead of being pulled into the cultural chaos.

With my whole heart I seek you;
    let me not wander from your commandments!
I have stored up your word in my heart,
    that I might not sin against you.
Blessed are you, O Lord;
    teach me your statutes!
With my lips I declare
    all the rules of your mouth.
In the way of your testimonies I delight
    as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on your precepts
    and fix my eyes on your ways.
I will delight in your statutes;
    I will not forget your word. Psalm 119:10-16

Every day make time to spend it with the one who simply loves you more than you can fathom in conversation, prayer, studying His Word, and Thanksgiving. It goes well with a cup of coffee.  Just you and God.
