Speak Truth

It is easy to speak words of discord in passing without realizing how it tears others down in shame. Jesus never spoke shame over those He came to teach, heal, and save. during His time on earth. Jesus spoke truths in a quiet, calm manner to addicts, sinners, prostitutes, dishonest money changers, and even His betrayer. He embraced women and children as valuable gifts of life. He stayed true to His purpose even amid danger.

The demons in the crowds heckled Him relentlessly. Authorities plotted to kill Jesus long before He was crucified. All the while Holy spoke truths, not derogatory remarks in the name of teaching a lesson through tearing them down for mistakes made with words of disgust. What Jesus did was made them think and it infuriated the mobs. Yet, Jesus did not back away from saying the truth because He knew in order to change minds, heart postures, and save lives, truths must come first for true change to take place.

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

We are all torn down somewhere in our lives . Jesus relentlessly looks for ways to rebuild life within each of us. Let us do that for each other. Go to God’s Word, in Prayer, and have a conversation with Jesus to seek the truths that will rebuild your life, not continue to tear it down.

Yes, we can also tear ourselves down with overthinking, feeling worthless, blaming God for our issues, allowing feelings to harden our hearts, and refusing to accept that we have a purpose in life that does not include shame. Now, today, is the day to rise up in victory in Jesus name and keep moving forward with rebuilding your life His Way, not your way.
