Do you doubt what you’ve seen and heard even when it’s right in front of you? Sometimes you see or hear something that says one thing, but immediately doubt the legitimacy of it because it doesn’t ring true in your Spirit. This is where doubt begins to play with our minds. A thousand questions arise within and you spend precious time trying to anxiously sort it out. Doubt is exhausting, but it also hardens our hearts against great possibilities. It messes with our belief and faith in the unseen. We feel it, but doubt tells us that it’s not proof enough for us to just throw our complete trust into Divine. But, Divine is extraordinary. The silent language Holy Spirit speaks should out shine our doubts, but in our humanness we sometimes just can’t let go so freely that we give up complete control. To believe only because we feel something is Right and Truthful in our gut is Holy. To doubt, excessively question, or constantly need proof is the enemies way to gain control of us because those mind games keep us in chaos therefore not allowing for seeing, hearing, nor appreciating Divine blessings, unexplainable healings, and deeply rooted faith.
Think of it this way. If you begin to doubt that your 1200 lb horse can safely carry you across a fence, around a barrel, or through the woods all while taking silent directions by way of your seat, legs, hands, and mind, your horse will sense your trepidation and now there are two of you doubting. Fear and tension sets in between the two of you and trust is broken. The horse has done his/her job hundreds of times, but begins to wonder why you (the rider) is nervous, acting scared, and are now holding the reins really tight. The relaxation that comes with trust goes missing, silent communication breaks down, and the extraordinary bond between horse and rider is damaged. But, not beyond repair. Sometimes, with the horse, you have to step out of your comfort zone, throw caution to the wind, give your horse his/her head and say, “you can do this, I trust you”. Restoration comes when you least expect it.
The same is true with God. It is never too late to let go and give the reins of your life to Holy especially in the hardest, darkest, most doubting moments. Restoration comes. In the silence you feel it. It is far from ordinary .
