It is not by chance or luck that success just happens. Without effort success becomes a fleeting dream. As well, if we never try, give up too soon, or let one failure determine the outcome then we don’t learn the depth of what life has to offer.
Relationship with the Divine is much like this. If we put nothing into it the outcome is weak, unfulfilling, and withers at the first sign of trouble stagnating our ability to grow in Faith. But, if we prepare our hearts and minds with the Truth of His Word, Daily Prayer, and a Servant attitude our understanding grows and strengthens our inner being. Then when temptation breezes into our realm our resolve to resist is girded by the work done in preparing. And, yes, as imperfect humans we will fail, fall, and stumble, but through those times we learn, we rise again, we know what to guard against next time. This is Success.
Everything in life takes work, effort, and determination preceded by being prepared from careers, relationships, steering clear of addictive temptations, or raising teenagers, so why not put just as much time into developing our faith life. Seeking success is Not about perfection, performing religious rituals, or knowing everything all at once when it comes to our relationship with Christ. There is Success in baby steps. There is Forgiveness for mistakes. There is the Holy One who seeks you out every day ready to help you prepare for life’s greatest challenges.
