Sacred Space

Where is your sacred space? The place you go for restoration, rest, wisdom, peace. The space in time in which you find solace mentally and strength physically. Where do you go to find yourself? It can only happen in the presence of Holy. And, it’s not about the actual place. It’s that you made the effort to carve out time in your busy life everyday to spend time with Holy seeking wisdom, laying bare your soul, and breathing sighs of relief from noise, crowds, phones, chaos, work, people….. This sacred space is a gift to yourself and a gift of God. Of course, church is a sacred space. It is the gift of God for the community of believers. This sacred space serves to enhance your private time spent with God giving Holy the praise. The important takeaway here is that both sacred spaces are important to finding the you God created you to become.

If you’re only longing to just make it out of town to the beach, cabin in the woods, or travel through Europe to finally find yourself, the point is missed. Sacred space is not out there somewhere on vacation. It is within. It longs to be nurtured in the silent space of your daily life.

Holy longs for time with you. You will find out more about yourself in the restful silence spent with God than anything else can provide. It is a time of revelation, opportunities to learn, and studying situations through sacred eyes while listening to your heartbeat in rhythm with the earth. It is deep. It is refining. It is sacred.

Where have you carved out your sacred space?

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
