I have always been fascinated by frogs. The other day this one took me by surprise. As I leaned over to remove the summer bulbs from the clay pot to store them until next year I saw it. It was tiny, but I immediately noticed the unique marking. I was mesmerized by the Holy expression of the green cross on it’s back. It was the reminder I needed that day to keep going, stay the course, Divine is in control down to even the intricate design on a frog’s back.
Today this Eastern Cricket Frog has grown, the green has spread out and the cross is not so visible anymore. But, because I stopped to notice it when it was clearly present, I immediately felt the awe of Holy. I am still reminded God is in control, and I am blessed.
On days when we feel like we’re sinking, Holy shows up to remind us He has not forgotten, He sees the trouble, He knows the bigger picture. Don’t miss it. Better yet, look for Divine everyday in all that you do and say and see.
By the way, the bulbs are still in the clay pot. I didn’t want to disturb my new friend. But, I also understood the more important blessing at hand. Divine reached out to reassure and remind and invoke a Holy moment, which was more important than digging in the dirt that day. Glad I didn’t miss it.
