Prepared for Change

There are seasons of life for all of us that are really hard, particularly sad, full of difficulties, and haunted by uncertainties. We want change to hurry up and come so we can feel good, comfortable, and at ease again. What we do not realize during those times is that in order for change to be of value, there must be work done with God.

Preparing for change is a work of the Holy Spirit within us that has nothing to do with our feelings. It looks different every season for every person. One season, we may need to learn a lesson in forgiveness before change can occur. Other seasons may be learning how to overcome adversities or addictions, rein in angry outbursts, or set boundaries with highly offensive people.

Change can not occur until we are prepared to let go of something or someone, gain clarity and understanding, and are awakened to truths. It may take years. It may be rough for a long while, but in order to move forward with deeper meanings of God, we must persevere in order to get there.

Are you prepared for change? Whatever that looks like in your life, only God can help you prepare.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:20-24

The whole reason for change is to make you better, new, renewed, healthy, and whole into becoming whom God created you to be. Prepare!
