One in the Spirit

How refreshing that the Divine chose to create each of us uniquely, diversely, and colorful.
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 (ESV)

What a dull, depressing place of existence if all of us were created the exact same like a world filled with robots making no room for feelings, diverse gifts, abilities, or excitement in life. Thank goodness for diversity for that is where we can hold each other up. What one is good at doing another needs help; we are called to thrive in our diversities not destroy because we are not alike. While our personalities, abilities, skin color, eye color, gender, height, DNA, etc. differs from person to person, there is one aspect of our humanness the Divine created the same . We are all One in the Spirit. It is up to us to accept it, acknowledge it, and live it daily. That one unifying aspect is more than enough to overcome any diverse opinions, actions, behaviors, and/or feelings.

Within our human Spirit there lies the Creator of all that is good, right, just, kind, compassionate, loving, fair, equal, and caring no matter our outward appearance, wealth, poverty, gender, life circumstances, or level of education. Many live close to this Divine Spirit within on a daily basis. Some have forgotten. Some have never heard of it. As long as life is going along smoothly it is easy to see the good in others, love unconditionally, treat strangers with respect, be fair and just in our businesses… However, more times than not, it is within life’s hardships that we must take hold of that Divine Holy Spirit within and fervently search for that part of us that resonates as one in all that is good convincing ourselves to walk, no run, away from giving in to the lie that one human is better than the other, destructive behaviors born out of hate, and turning a blind eye to those in need.

Human Diversity along with Spiritual Oneness is to be embraced with fervor. When each of our unique selves contributes to society in positive ways there becomes a healing bond within that connects us all across the world with God. It cannot be broken by any evil forces. We Are One in the Spirit. Who needs the gift of the Holy Spirit today?
