To nourish the soul is to engage with our Creator in spirit and in action. It is what keeps us from an inflated ego of self-importance. Nothing else compares to the joy to be had when we stay close to Jesus.
And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11
When we take time to nourish our soul in conversation with Jesus, praying, reading God’s Word, helping others, praise, worship, and seeking Holy Spirit guidance, our faith deepens. It is the crux of hope instilled.
Sometimes, our nourishment looks like a long walk in the silent forest or sitting in the sunshine listening to birds sing. And, sometimes, it looks like leaning in to God’s patiently waiting arms with a sigh of relief.
Whatever you need to nourish your soul today, take the time, make the effort, and keep the faith. Jesus is waiting for you.
