The narrow road of life is never a straight path to happiness, good, freedom, and healing. There’s lessons to be learned. It takes determination and grit to stay on the right and good path. Sometimes the road of life becomes so narrow it’s hard to see your way forward. Life lessons are never easy and are always right around the next curve. It’s best to slow down sometimes to navigate your next inch to progress. We are called to stay on the narrow good road that leads to the narrow gate of true life even when we can’t see too far ahead.
The narrow road feels lonely sometimes, and the lure of the wide broad road of distractions is always calling us. It’s full of self indulgence, lots of people who appear friendly but are really fake feel good sermons, and too many temptations. Steer clear though for your life depends on it. And when the lure becomes too great and you find yourself speeding down the broad road with the masses, slow down, think, and turn back onto the narrow road. Divine always takes us back, even us prodigals.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14
