Possessions do not have the capacity to love you. Nor can they add any meaningfulness to your life other than comfort, give you the feeling of looking good, or provide you with bragging rights. You can have the most expensive tack, the biggest barn, a big fancy house, and a rig to die for, but nothing about those things can make your soul feel happy and loved. They can never replace love and harmony.
It is OK to live simply not expensively. In fact, it is healthier. Homes, barns, churches, are only buildings. It is the love, the harmony, the feeling of kindred spirits, within them that will determine your enjoyment in life.
Above all put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14
Pray, daily, for Holy wisdom and guidance. It costs nothing, but doing so leads you to love, serving, contentment, and harmony with the Holy Spirit.
