Laborer’s

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Luke 10:2 (ESV)
Harvest = God’s Provision for us and God’s blessing for others through us. Laborer’s = Hard Worker; Meaningful and Worthy for Purpose

Everything in life on this earth takes work. Even navigating school traffic takes skills that only one cup of morning coffee can’t help. It takes concentration, paying attention to safety while getting through the lights at the right time, careful timing in passing slower drivers driving the speed limit all in hopes new road construction hasn’t started and you attain the goal of getting there on time with homework, lunch, and, nowadays, a mask. It’s a chaotic whirlwind sometimes, especially when we run late. Many times it’s a laborious task and can be done in shouting anger or calm diligence. No matter how the day starts focusing on getting there safely in a calm manner is the most important task at that moment in time, as it sets the tone for the day in an uplifting way. It is a determined Labor of Love. It takes painstaking effort. But, the reward of all the mornings navigations are worth the effort at the end of the day. This is just one scenario out of a thousand that occurs in our lives daily.

Lessons of humility, forgiveness, self-control, unconditional love, and working hard to do the right thing are all wrapped up in each and every moment of our lives. Make it count. Don’t give in to the easy way out. And make sure you forgive yourself when the situation gets the best of you and mistakes are made. Don’t give up trying just because of a few mistakes along the way. Your labor is not in vain no matter what it entails.

We are called by God to put this kind of effort into the labors of life every day in our jobs, relationships, community, family, children, sharing the Truth, etc. Few will be committed enough to go the long haul and stick with the importance of the bigger plan when it’s easier to railroad and manhandle your way through it at that moment.

Labor in Love today and every day and see the difference it makes not only for yourself, but for those around you.
