The first week of school has kicked me to the curb. I’m sure I’ve looked like this rooster all week driving to school. I’ve been so ready for school to start all summer. I thought it would be a breeze, but I’ve realized it’s been too long without that school routine in my household. I haven’t found my school year normal yet, but I will. More importantly, I’ve missed my early alarms to do the one thing, other than coffee, that I always start my day off doing; spending time with Jesus. I get to it later, but that early morning quiet time sets the tone for my day, so it means so much more to me. My routine has been pour into Holy and pour a cup of coffee. Change is hard. But, tomorrow is another day and another chance to hear the early alarm in the quiet of the wee hours before chaos erupts into hurried breakfasts, finding lost shoes, and changing clothes 3 times. Realities in life change day to day and season to season. However, I am thankful for the one constant that remains in life for no matter the situation Divine patiently waits for enough of our focused time to pour beauty, calmness, meaning, wisdom, and so much more into our very spirit equipping us to seize the day.
Thank goodness for coffee, Jesus, and another chance. Start pouring!
“God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people; your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” Acts 2:17
