Perfectionism is not necessary, doesn’t save lives, and only projects a false sense of order. Perseverance builds stamina and wisdom along the way, even when we are weak and tired. If we try to do it alone we fail for humanity as a whole, innately, is self centered and offers nothing that can save us.
Yet, within each of us is an innate desire to survive. It’s always a long haul that tears us down little by little by betrayal, lies, false hope, illness, war, life’s hardships, but only if we don’t recognize and accept the Holy One who lives within. That is the missing aspect in many lives that leads to despair, giving up, throwing in the towel, giving in to self destruction… Holy Spirit within teaches us to rise above the hard times by developing the perseverance of Christ. It is then we truly survive, live happily amid the troubles, and learn wisdom along the way. It is then we can look back at the miracles sprinkled throughout our lives, marvel at our ability to get through, and smile with thanksgiving remembering those who persevered along side us at our lowest moments.
Are you living your life persevering? Or complaining? You know, anyone can even play at Perseverance, but if you’re spinning your wheels, sinking deeper into the throes of this world, and can’t recognize your successes amid your sacrifice it is not life giving.
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord…He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths.” Micah 4:2
The Divine way is the path to successful Perseverance. Are you in it for the long haul?
