Isn’t this the truth for all, but especially for mother’s. Motherhood is the toughest job one will ever have, but the fleeting rewards are priceless. Yes, their is always a lesson wrapped in those failures that lead to understanding, eventually.
A particularly hard motherly lesson for me was years ago as I sat on the ground weeping and wailing over my heart horse as I lay across her neck. She had just died losing her baby, who died with her. I wasn’t her biological mom, but my heart didn’t know that. I loved her just as fiercely as I did my 4 month old baby asleep in my own mother’s arms, standing in the window of my home watching and fretting over my wellbeing. I had cared for my heart horse since she was young, and my soul burned that she had to suffer and die like this, and there was nothing I could do to fix it. That is the day I learned life is fragile.
Biblically, motherhood is a high and important calling. Nurturing with care, teaching, understanding, tough love, fierce protection, and knowing when to let go are in our DNA created for us by God. Now, it doesn’t matter whether you give birth, adopt, raise horses, only care for animals, save wildlife, or advocate for Mother Earth you are still operating from a deep soul spirit of motherhood.
Today, celebrate motherhood with all of its love, fun, caring, failures, and lessons learned. You are loved deeply by God, and that is what is most important. God wants you to love your high calling. Holy Spirit will help you. Call out in prayer right now.
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31
