Healing our spirit is just as important as healing our physical body. What do you need more of as well as less of in life? Make those goals.
Our spirit and physical bodies are interconnected. We must also heal our spirit if we are to heal physically. Working towards healing the physical is easier because it is tangible through touch, taste, smell, hearing, and seeing. Yet, without healing the spirit of whatever is in the way, physical healing is never fully whole.
Healing our spirit is sacred ground. We must open ourselves up to free the baggage we’ve collected over a lifetime so God can guide, lead, send, and orchestrate help with healing. Holy Spirit lives within and wants us to become faithfully whole.
Beyond the jars of salves, oxymels of homemade medicines, prescription medications, herbal remedies, and moonshine tinctures for lung health, we must also nurture our spiritual side.
Take a timeout from your hectic life and spend it with God. Take a walk. Bird watch. Go on a trail ride. Be still and just breathe. Listen for the breath of Holy to pass by. Pray. Read and study the Word in the forest. Have a long involved talk with Jesus in the garden. Sing a hymn to your horse, dog, cat, or other animal. After Sunday morning church service, sit by the lake and ponder the deeper meaning of the message and music. Ask God how you need to nurture your spirit.
Never underestimate the power of less is more, naps, or God-given miracles.
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7
