Following in the footsteps of Jesus is the only way to experience God’s grace filled love. There is nothing we can do, have done, or say to earn it. Only your belief that Jesus died and rose from death out of grace, mercy, and forgiveness for each of us and then living out your faith every day in every way.
Ezekiel 7 speaks of wayward people who were continually warned about their ways of living. They became a nation that worshipped other gods, money, pleasures, prosperity, self endeavors, and forfeited peacefulness because they would not listen. Everything in life came with an attached reciprocation, revenge, one-up, or motivation driven by greed.

Outside is the sword, inside are plague and famine; those in the country will die by the sword, and those in the city will be devoured by famine and plague. Ezekiel 7:15
While this scripture speaks of war and where the people reside, their obstinacy is the same. It speaks to us today as well.
We have the Word of God as our sword. We must use it every day to learn how to guard against sin and wayward ways that move us away from Holy Living. Because of our humanness, the plague and famine within indicate we will all be afflicted with something to treat and guard against whether it’s disease, starving for peace, or a really difficult season of life.
The reminder here is to stay close to God, heed the warnings, stay true to your beliefs, nurture your faith, and choose to walk through the daily battlefield on earth as a warrior for God. Seek the grace He offers. Then give the grace you received.
God is not revengeful. He is a grace filled with love giver.
