When we first believe we have this euphoric sense of ‘no more troubles for me’ or ‘it’s going to be easy living from now on’. As long time believers, we know the prosperity based theme of entertainment ends and hard core reality sets in.
We know we are not abandoned in our faithfulness to God because Holy is always faithful to us in hard times. We must help others see and feel Holy presence in hard times. God, who sits with a father in a hospital room watching his child die from bad choices, or a mother who is on her knees in travailing prayer for the safety of a homeless son, may be unseen yet Holy presence is there.
Always, in the good, the bad, the sad, and the ugliness God is there. Jesus takes the wheel when we cannot. I trust that. Do you?
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
Holy sends friends, strangers, jobs, provisions, nature, prayer warriors, and gives us inner strength to deal with whatever, to lighten our load. I trust that. When you see someone overwhelmed with life, struggling in their faith, needing prayer , a meal, or a phone call, ask God how to help. God will lead you to pray over them unknowingly, sit in silence with them, or reach out in ways they need it most because Holy knows their deep needs when we do not.
Look for opportunities to share your Jesus story. New believers, especially, need to know how us old wise people continued on living in faith when life is not fair and euphoria is gone. God will make a way!
