What are you grieving? Loss, emotional turmoil, regrets, a different life, conflict with no resolution……..? Grief will come in many ways. Grief is more than missing a loved one. It happens every day in some way and will turn into fear if not addressed. How are you addressing it every day?
Corrie Ten Boom is a perfect example of handling loss and grief amid her suffering in the Natzi concentration camp. She embraced her unknown future to her known God in prayer, serving the others in need, taking every step with her Heavenly Father, and never giving up hope, even when her sister died right beside her. She released her ashes of disappointment in humanity sending her into a different future to the one she could trust then went to work for God in the tortuous place in which she found herself. Deeply knowing God was her saving grace.
It is time to give your ashes to God and trust Him with your future. Be patient in the wait. Trust His process. Keep going in Jesus name. God’s got you.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3
