Jesus’ life on earth teaches us that in order to speak truth, gain biblical memory knowledge, hear the Holy Spirit within, and experience a closeness with God we must give Holy our time, daily. I see it as the most important and beautiful way of self care.
Jesus slipped away in the early mornings, away from the crowds, from wherever He was staying, and even without His disciples to spend time alone with God. He prayed, had conversation with, and just listened in the silence to hear God His Father. Jesus stepped away from the distractions to spend time with God. It is there Jesus gained clarity, truth, and the inner workings of His assignment on earth.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
God gave us the gift of life. Give Holy the gift of your time well spent alone, in community with fellow Christians, singing praise songs, and throughout each day. It is good to be alive.
