Forgiveness is not easy to fathom at times, especially when so many emotions are tied to the situation. Overthinking takes over. Justification of reasons not to forgive pop up right and left. We ponder it, wax and wane, then, when we have exhausted all avenues, the glaring truth points us back to the road of forgiveness.
It’s a delicate dance that strong pull between remaining justified or humbly forgiving. If we perceive the violet as such a small flower in this world of tall trees that it doesn’t really matter, then perhaps it is time to think differently. It seems insignificant. Yet, the truth of it lies in the fragrance after it’s crushed. The sweet fragrance of forgiveness is the essence of God who shows us truths, heals festering wounds, and restores pieces of broken hearts.
Who do you need to forgive? Do it today.
Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:15
