Face of Courage

Quote Credit: Tim Keller
“Be of good courage, and let us be courageous for our people, and for the cities of our God and may the Lord do what seems good to Him (and let us do good and right, too).” 2 Samuel 10:12

There are many reasons we are able to face our fear graciously and courageously, but let us not forget that the determining factor that enables us to react by doing the right thing instead of what another one may deserve is always a Divine measure of courage that wells up inside of our Spirit. It takes a self disciplining desire to make something good out of something horrendous instead of allowing our selfish desire to take over. When you face your greatest nightmare with Divine courage you can always make the right decision and follow through with good actions, which is the bravest most courageous action of all. It may be easier in the threat of the moment to spew hate, throw a tantrum, judge with an unreasonable attitude, or even push, shove and slay your way through it, but when you give into this behavior nothing is accomplished or diffused and you’re still fighting fear with fear. Fear is punishment oriented.
