Empathy of Jesus

Indifference, ignoring, selfish attitudes, rudeness, and caring only for one’s own comforts is not how God intended us to treat others nor to live together on earth. All too often those behaviors are glossed over and excused for they are not viewed as a violent crime or overly abusive. Yet, they are still harmful to individuals and society. So why is humanity ok with it?

Jesus made every effort every day to show empathy for all. No matter who He was with, where He was, or in what kind of circumstances, Jesus always noticed, showed care and concern, and reached out to those in need. These encounters of servitude are the very essence of who God is and how humans should live. Beginning right now, each and every one of us should seek to be Jesus to all who we encounter, and look for opportunities to show empathy, understanding, and care. The world just might right itself if we stop harming and start caring.

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept.” John 11:33-35
